Best Friends

I woke up this morning,
the sun shining through,
Saw the sky,
painted baby blue.

Memories of you,
fled through my mind,
like a thousand birds,
spreading across the sky.

Oh how you made me smile,
this pale face of mine did shine,
just as the sun does,
from time to time.

I heard the children's laughter,
coming from the streets,
thinking of our time together,
and when our eyes did meet.

Every time I feel low,
and just want to cry,
you dry my puddle of tears,
like the sun far in the sky.
