You took off
Went your separate way
Left me wondering what
We could have been if you had stayed

This little girl I now hold
Would had smiled at you
You would have been able to kiss her
And tell her I LOVE YOU

At the hospital upon arrival
You would have cut her free
If you were still by my side
If you were still with me

When she started crawling
You would have screamed with joy
But instead around this time
You were having your little boy

When she started to talk
You would have been teaching
That I was her mami
And you were her papi

When we went to the beach
To play around in the sand
It should have been you
Not my brother holding her hand

On her first birthday
It should have been YOU with the camera
YOU should have helped
Blow out the candles with her

Now she's two
And now you wish you were here
But now that you want to
You cant come for years

But at least you wish to see
Her first day of pre-school
You want her to say
"This is my dad, isn't he cool"

So we'll focus on
What could definitely be
If you ever decide
To come back to me
