Lovers till the end

This is another old poem...it ain't that good but whatever.....

It's been years
Since you were truly mine
It's been a long time
Since your lips were on mine

Your behind bars
For a crime you committed
You weren't with me then
But you still admitted

Your love for me was there
No other could replace
My kisses you say were best
With her you saw my face

We always kept in touch
For one reason or another
So sad I am about
Us not being with each other

We accept our destinies path
We take it day by day
I dream of him still
He does too, or so he says

We were friends above all
Maybe thats the difference
Between them and me
They always felt my presence

Couldn't compete with the love
Of two lovers and friends
I guess it's just how it is
Lovers till the end
