Yule

by shadowlight   Dec 18, 2005

Naked trees against the red sky,
Snow glistening upon the floor,
Icicles tinkle from bare branches,
When look outside that is what they saw,
Dancing snowflakes falling,
Against a blood red sky,
The barren ground shimmering,
As the light begins to die,
The winter moon glows,
Against a dark abyss,
Its icy glow a milky white,
The only thing to matter or exist,
The red berries of the holly,
The white upon the mistletoe,
The footprints left by deer,
Within the virgin snow,
The burning of the Yule log,
The drinking of the wine,
Bestow thanks to the holly king,
At this Yuletide time.

Nice, but didn't you mean "bare" trees, not bear trees?
Ok, never mind, there was a nice, kinda symetric feelin' about it. hum..how to explain?
    Nice poetry.
