Geisha

Geisha
~Inspired by Memoirs of a Geisha
(Sayuri)

I allow my gaze to wander…
A stranger to the stars
A blood red moon contents my mind
Though my heart pools upon the wet grass
A dewy morning outlasts the high wind of the night
I saw his face and held it there

Why would I be so cruelly kept, and heed him as my torment?
Does love regale even the most trifle inadequacy?
Unable to control the destiny lain before us…

As I have spent an eternity living in the shadow of its start
What cruelties have I witnessed?
That I shall abuse upon another
Just to win his love…

Love of a Geisha
~Dedicated to the Memoirs of a Geisha
(The Chairman)

What with this parody
Kept in glass has tipped his heart
Ensconced his lust a virile storm
Trussed his smart a winded song bird
Blind to love’s severity
For his soul cannot bear its loss
