The Reaching Outcast

by Bradley Peter   Dec 19, 2005

Do you ever feel trapped, secluded, lost within a cave
feeling so much fright, but pretending to be brave
do you ever sometimes feel, like your the one left behind
always searching somewhere, for something you can't find

Have you ever once believed, that your standing all alone
with nothing else to help you, just your wits, flesh and bone
was you ever in a state, where you didn't want to go on
to just take a walk, and one day just be gone

do you ever pretend to be happy, though inside your sad
feeling all your emotions, begin to drive you mad
do you ever put on a front, showing a brave face
when really your just dying, and losing the entire race

do you dream of a place, where these feelings, you won't feel
foolishly thinking, that a place like that is real
hoping and preying, that one day the pain shall cease
well i prey for it too, for i am in need of that peace

*this is based on a conversation i had with a friend who I've known for over half my life. for the first time in ten years we spoke seriously, and discovered things about each other that we thought we'd never know*

Sad, in a way, but it really makes you think. You chose good words to express yourself, and its awesome that you finally talked seriously to a long time friend, to get to know them better. Awesome job.. find some time to post more soon!
