A sign?

Just letters?
No.
Then what?
A life could be,
A "killer" could be
Or even a key,
Depends on how we
use them seem to be
Words...
Seem just like letters,
Stronger then all weapons

    Nice stuff. Usually I would recommend not ending with '...' but in this case I think it works well because you have a 'questioning' tone throughout.
