Christmas Wish

by xღxBeckyxღx   Dec 20, 2005

Santa came to see me last night,
I'd forgotten to write this year,
So he told me he'd grant my Christmas wish.
I thought about swimming in endless amounts of money,
Having a new wardrobe full of clothes, or two,
A new car wouldn't go miss, maybe even a new house, a palace, a castle.
Then I realized even with all these materialistic things, I wouldn't be happy without one thing.
I thought of you and me, of us when we used to be together,
That summer we spent last year with one another,
Just lying in each others arms and talking about being together forever.
But lately, we've grown apart,
Now we barely even talk.
I cry at night because I want to be with you,
All I want is for you to hold me, reassure me,
All I want is for you to whisper "I love you".
So I asked Santa to grant me something he may see as very small,
But to me, it would make me the happiest girl in the whole world.
"Don't you want a new car? A house for your mum and dad?" He asked me.
But I refused and shook my head furiously, for all I want this Christmas,
Something I want for my lifetime,
Is you.

Ohhh how adorable... I loved this poem. I especially love how you wrote the last part. This poem is so true, sometimes one person means so much more than materialistic things. Great writing hun, and I hope you got what you wanted =)
