Rejected. Abandoned.

by Sarah Ann   Dec 20, 2005

Abandoned she walks around the streets
Smiling at everyone she meets.
Distorted, she holds her stomach in,
As goosebumps creep upon her skin.

Nothing now can stop her tears.
She prays and walks for many years
Only to find a door not there,
And not one person to really care.

Keep walking lady in the cold
Your clothes are tattered, worn and old,
No one will give to buy your bread,
Lose hope in living life instead.

Still lost, she walks around the streets,
Smiling at everyone she meets
Begging with sorrowed eyes and hands,
For one good person to understand.
