STRUGGLE

It was the Republic Day
but who knew they had to pay.
we were not arrested
why? why? they struggled
to the DEATH...

the eyes were crying
the lips got dried
the voice got dumb
nothing left-
just bodies without soul.

the string broke down
beads scattered
got into the earth
but reached the sky.

the world seems-
the plant without flowers
the tree without leaves
the river without water
the birds without colour
and body without soul.

people begged for them
stuffed their pockets.
but no one could beg
lives for them.........

**this is in memory of those who lost their lives on 26th jan 2001 when there was an earthquake in gujarat. there was a huge loss of lives. so i just thought to pen down some words for them.
