Unconditional Love

I gave you everything I owned
I gave you my love my heart my soul
I said I love you more than a thousand times
I proved that love to you every single time
Didnt I show you my love for you was real
Still you told me unsure was what you felt
How can you say it wont always be enough
When all I ever did was give you unconditional love

Didnt I give you everything you asked for
I made all your wishes come true
I dealt with your short temper and mood swings
Because you were the only one I adored
Every time you were down I lifted you up high
When no one else believed I stood by your side
Didnt I tell you I will always be there
I was the only one who always cared
How could you say it wont always be enough
When all I ever tried was to give you unconditional love

I know I couldnt be there for you
In the middle of the night
But I was always there to make your days bright
I finished your unfinished works
When you were overwhelmed with everything
I made you smile on your gloomy days
And brought you the scent of spring
Didnt I assure you I will be your helping hand
Right by your side is where I will always stand
How did you still say it wont always be enough
When all I did day and night was give you unconditional love

I am not saying you were wrong
You were right from the start
How could a love be so hopeful
When in time we had to be apart
I admit the time I gave you wasnt always enough
I did my very best with that undercover love
Didnt I looked out for your best interest all the time
I always put you first and forgot everything about mine
Why did you still say it wont always be enough
When all I ever lived for was to give you unconditional love

Blinded by love I thought you would feel differently
But I guess I was the only one denying reality
I couldnt take you disappearing on me
So I did the favor for both of us and set you free
I smiled and I let you go when I was torn apart inside
You saw the pain I felt inside right through my eyes
