Picture a Painted Picture

by Dwight Towner   Dec 22, 2005

Paint me a picture
of red,white, and blue
Colors of strength and togetherness
Waving so peaceful and true
For every drop of blood wasted
I have a tear to represent America's motto
Tranquility symbolizes my fate
America represents Mona Lisa
Soldiers become Picasso
Paint me a picture
Of freedom with no restrictions
Peace with no frictions
And separate the real from the fiction
Paint me a picture of America in camouflage
See how fast we get lost in the whole mirage
Blending in with problems other countries face
Stand alone
And evolve not into many
But one solid race
Paint me a picture
Of the King of all King's
Go into his mind
And find his lost dream
A dream of equality
That has never been reached
Brainwashing our minds
Leaving America so breeched
Paint me a picture
A picture of harp's playing
Angels singing
Analyze the picture
And see it displays no real meaning
For now I've painted my own picture
Of hate, prejudice, and fatality
For now my picture
Is no longer my imagination
It becomes an actual reality.
