I can't begin to thank you enough, for all you do for me,
It's hard enough trying to say what I want in a few lines of this poem,
But day by day you've become more special to me, and without you I'd be lost,
You helped me up when I was down, you taught me to see, that the futures bright for me.
You made me realize I don't need to be perfect, and suffer to be beautiful,
Cos it's those like you who see what's inside, and that I have no reason to change,
I am who I am in every way; I am just another person in this world,
But what makes me difference is having you as a friend, and for that I'm so very grateful.
You give me something to smile about, and to laugh through every tear,
You change my aching heart into a heart filled with love,
I feel secure knowing that you're by my side night and day,
And no matter what my life will bring, I know you'll always be near.
When I think of what I'm missing it all seems so insignificant,
Cos it's what I have that matters, I have a lifetime of mistakes which awaits me,
But you, you make me feel alive, I never thought I'd get to feel like this,
Such a warm love for friendship, after starving to feel safe, and longing for innocence.
Never have I met, a person quite like you,
So genuine, honest, open, yet cheeky, a variety of loving goodness,
So in my times, of weakness, and all the difficulties that life has thrown at me,
Here is my thank you that you can keep, in your mind, your heart, and close to you.
