Teary Eyes

by Sherry Lynn   Dec 23, 2005

Teary Eyes

I laid in bed tonight and cried
Tears of loneliness
With heartbreak filled my eyes

In a world full of people
I've isolated myself somehow
Maybe because I'm afraid
Of being hurt once again

Hiding my feelings
Is what I do best
Never shall I be the first
To confess

Running away
Is how I survive
Rather easy to do in my life

Anytime I begin to love
I get beat on once again
Another tactic I suppose
To prevent me from gaining control

I laid in bed and cried tonight
Tears of loneliness with heartbreak
Have become my life

    Sherry,
let me start by saying 5008 visit..a pretty popular piece :)..

I almost forgot myself within your lines, and the sad tone of your words.
and I seriously almost lost myself between the emotions u penned down, which I can relate to about 99 %.

a very sad piece, that implies fear of the outside world..(reasonable ffear sure)
because wen the outside world..hurts us over and over again..we lack the ability to see its beauty..as we hide in out shell, afraid of loving again..afraid of being hurt..

I just wonder what I been missing while hiding ..
    a thought provoking poem..worded nicely.
    from the heart/obviously

    5/5
    bless you
