Forever love

Some will say love is "forever"
they'll swear to you upon this
I have learned from my past
this kind of love don't exist.

I've searched "forever" high and low
even looked past oceans far and wide
yet whenever I peeked both ways
"forever" love's still not by my side.

I've hunted for it many moons
even waited through the sands of time
yet whenever it's been within my reach
"forever" love just hasn't been mine.

I've thought about "forever" many times
even wondered until the point of anxiety
yet whenever I've been promised this love
"forever" has always slipped right by me.

Some will say love is "forever"
and upon this I shall frown
because each time I fell "forever"
it has always let me down.

I've never found this kind of love
so "forever" I'll just live carefree
I've given up my entire search
and I will let "forever" look for me.
