The Light Of Love

by RainbowSlider   Dec 23, 2005

If my heart could talk
and my soul could speak
it would say life
is for the living.
Only survivors can tell
of those that didn't
but survivors need love
because the didn't are loved.
You can't take away love
that is already given
and love freely given
is priceless and treasured.
Oh, you can try to escape
and say it is not real
but who do you think
you are fooling.
When love calls
will you answer
or turn a deaf ear?
Are you so blind
and so unfeeling
that nothing can touch you?
Are you an island
in the middle of an ocean
or are you an oasis
in the middle of a desert?
Many are called
but few are chosen
and the harvest is ripe
but the laborers are few.
I knock at the door
will you answer it
or just ignore me forever?
What light from yon windows breaks?
It is the light of love.
Love shines like the sun
and even in total darkness
you can see it.
Can you hear the call of love?
I hear love ringing in my heart
and the trumpet of love
deeply in my soul.
