Waiting Just For You

Waiting Just For You

Baby, let's carve a little into this old oak tree
Lets see how it feels
Let's climb the branches and sleep under the leaves
And drift off in a natural wonder

When we wake up and the city greets us
Try to go asleep again
I won't wake up
'Till I reach paradise

And though it seems so far
I can see the sky dimming with darkened rainbow shades
Thoughts fly through my head
Do I really know you?

Yet I just take your hand
Hold it tightly
Look up at that beautiful sunset
With rivers streaming down my cheeks

When can we ever be alone, in this place again?
Without feeling.. more than friends?
These tears, they're not from pain
But from love, joy, and the will to wait

Tears in the shape of diamonds and stars
Hitting the ground quietly
As I cuddle close
And try to rest

With every breath, I feel more of the world
Smiling with me, crying with me, shaking when I'm scared
And yet when I open my eyes
You're gone.

And here I still wait.
This is what I see
When I try to go to sleep
Seeing that same sunset
Every night

And I'll wait however long
Till everything in my dream becomes real
And I'll cry my tears of joy
Waiting just for you.
