Just Another Memory

by Peter Williams   Dec 24, 2005

Old wounds...
Old scars...
Past mistakes...
No regrets.
But now,
You regret it.
I moved on...
My heart moved on...
My soul moved on...
I can't go back,
I can't be weak.
Wasn't that the point?
Wasn't that the reason?
That's what I've learned...
Go forward without looking back.
Reconcile with your past,
But continue to the future.
I smoke a cig...
For every bad memory...
For every bad dream...
I'm at the brink of tears,
When I remembered all that I didn't want to remember.
It wasn't just you...
It was all of them,
Every single one.
It wasn't me,
It never was...
I was just naive.
I'm stronger now,
I'm wiser now.
I don't need you,
I don't need anyone.
As long as the people I love, love me...
Nothing else matters.
You're just another memory.
