Addictive Testimony

by Drew Gold   Dec 24, 2005

And I'd give everything up,
if for just one moment
you'd show me yourself,
the truth, not as the world would see,
but as plain
as you and me.
If you could guarantee
your total and absolute
availability.

'Cause that's all I need

A pill you take
to stop your heart
won't separate
the blood from veins
it's true, but still,
everytime
it never fails
to fill its space.

And that's all I need

But you,
I've lost in a
million different
trains of thought,

...a chemical's always there,
whether you change or not...

Is this, really, all I need?

Me?
I've been chemically lost,
in a drug-induced catatonia,
untouched and not quite sure
your embrace would prove
as permanent
burning as it is.

- not really positive
you'd venture
to lose yourself

ever again.

But,
now I see;
You
are all
Indeed.

Your work is just so dense, so emotional, powerful, it toys and tassles with the imagination. You craft it so well I cant even begin to describe the absolute feeling of domination and shock that i get when i read each piece. This one is just as intense as the rest, i like the rhyme, the loss of it, and the regain again. The only part i dont adore is the start, it just seems to flow from nothing as if it is part of a greater piece. It was just a new sort of appoach maybe Im just not used to it... Great piece yet again,
