A Thousand Battles

by Jesse Ray   Dec 24, 2005

A Thousand Battles

I'm constantly losing battles
Yet, I fight on for your heart
If a thousand times I'll lose
A thousand more battles I'll start

This war goes on for weeks
Becoming months then to years
I'll fight this war forever
I'll strive through all the tears

A thousand heartbeats speak your name
It seems a thousand years has passed
Although we've met only this year
A thousand tears flowing so fast

A thousand moments so unclear
One-thousand songs we danced to
Another thousand friendships formed
Your name becomes my only taboo

So I came to a conclusion quickly
I cannot win without you there
So what's the point in trying
If the war I'm fighting in is unfair?
