If I knew You

by Jorge Luis   Dec 29, 2003

If God were to grant me a single desire,
It would be to know you as the light knows a fire...
because maybe then you'll believe when I say,
that your smile satisfies more than a prince's buffet...

If I knew you the way poetry knew Shakespeare,
sadness would not only leave but it would soon disappear...
& quickly following it would be heartaches and cries,
for my love is as infinite as heaven's myriad size...

If only we knew each other the way a rhyme knows a poem,
I would build a city around your heart's lovely home...
& I would feed off your beauty & uplifting grace,
until my soul became full of your delicious embrace...
