Cold Rainy Days

by Raydeen   Dec 24, 2005

"Tell me you still love me" he begged his voice merely a whisper,
"I... just can't" she lied her eyes burning with tears.
She had told him all,
She had even self consciously brought out her biggest fears.

Thinking back,
she started to remember.
Those cold lonely days,
to which all she could do was surrender.

And this is what she remembered,

Watching him leave,
the memory brought a now familiar pain,
His back had turned to her and he had walked away,
Leaving her to stand crying in the rain.

He left,
and she had sat in agony alone.
Just waiting,
maybe if she just waited his voice would come, that lovely handsome tone.

For days she had walked around mindlessly,
She had been too numb to feel pain or cry.
So she laid in bed thinking,
It had been one big lie..

And he had come back, she came out of her memories and looked at his pained face.

This time she was the one who turned around,
Turned her back on him and silently crying, she walked away.
It was he who now sat on the curb,
crying away the cold rainy day.
