Simply Amazing

by Roberto Serrano   Dec 24, 2005

I confess my broken heart through tears that melted away on the pavement,
I even waited for the moon to grow ears and I shared my secret with his friendly face,
Like a tree without leaves in autumn I felt nude without you,
Your voice resonated between my eardrums playing your sweet sound,
Every song is ours and every beat mimics my hearts pulse,
A million steps from lips too pure to touch with a garden of silk,
Skin so translucent I can see deep into your chest and see my name written upon your heart,
Although I knew your lips were claimed by a name that still eats me within,
Like a childhood crush I cherished your name with sweaty palms at its sound,
Van Gogh painted a starry nightly in my deepest dreams with your eyes hailing over a crown,
Oh sweet voice so pure and love so true I wish I had your shadow over me,
But I feared your rejection through crowded rooms and yet... you noticed me,
I hail the artist with time to burn as no artist can paint such beauty on canvas,
Hours through the sands haunted my never grasping hands and I simply craved you,
I spent my night with the stars en route to the star I dreamed of,
I spent my nights with tears filling the wells of my eyes in melancholy because it was you that I dreamed of,
I often found myself walking back-wards in hopes of rewinding back time to put us together again,
I prayed to the father the son and holy mother for help for I was the un worthiest of men,
I grew to be patient a virtue no one can claim especially those who hadn't loved from a distance,
She was simply amazing no other words can capture such beauty and delicacy,
I ran through the sands of time with hopes of holding her hand some time,
My dream became reality when I purged her lips from a garden I grew,
And I pulled her eyes from the painting that the artist in my dreams drew,
Through the test of time you proclaimed me and I proclaimed you,
Love is simply amazing starting and ending with you...
