I cant stand waiting
for those neatly wrapped packages
beneath the tree
with bows and name tags
just waiting to be unwrapped
what will be there this year?!?
A t-shirt a CD
or maybe my favorite movie!
And the feasting we'll do later on
with ham
and potatoes
and all kinds of treats
the family will all get together
and do something crazy!
We'll sing Christmas carols and spread Christmas cheer!
but now tis only Christmas eve
and but one more day we have to wait
and tonight we go to bed early in hopes
that Good ol' jolly Santa clause
will fill our stockings with treats and goodies
for good boys and girls
going to church to give thanks for the boy
who came and died for us!
The joy and the wander of Christmas!
And so I am counting down the hours
until the wonderful festivities start!
