My Mother

by JJ   Dec 24, 2005

Toiling through the day
just barely sleeping at night
without another worry on her mind
and dark circles underneath her eyes
yet still, somehow
she manages a smile

nobody sees her pain
she carries burdens on her shoulders
the weight of which,
I can't imagine
yet she never complains

all through life trials
she remains steadfast
for she swears
that only true joy
lies in her children smiles

In everybody else's eyes
shes just an average woman
but in my eyes
shes a hero in disguise
a perfect portrait of love
a picture of patience,
strength and courage

unlike any woman I know,
she's my mother

There's nothing that's any more precious than the love between a Mother and Daughter, a very special bond that will never be broken. Mine is no longer with me except in my memories and my heart. Love her forever....and treasure that love because when we have them no longer our hearts cry out.....Touching and sweet poem.
