Low Blow

by marilyn marti   Dec 29, 2003

I gave you my heart
I gave you my all
but instead you tore it apart
and in turn made me crawl

I told you my secrets
I told you my lies
I really thought you loved me
I thought you would answer my cries

I asked you a question
will our love really last
or is it a distant
memory of the past

You looked at me closely
I didn't notice your deceitful mind
I was so stupid
and the good side of you was hard to find

The next day I saw you
you were kissing my best friend
I called you on the phone
and I told you it was the end

You hurt me badly
but I had to let you go
I won't be as dumb next time
but our lost love was a low blow.
