Three years

by Emily Lynn   Dec 29, 2003

Three years ago today you walked into my heart
Until then I was nothing; you gave me a new start
You were everything I needed and so much more
With you in my life, what else could I ask for?

You became my rock to lean on whenever it was needed
You always stood up for me when I was mistreated
You helped me through the bad and showed me all the good
I’ve tried to repay you in any way that I could

I’ve tried to be there for you and be your lucky charm
You know to make you happy, I’d give up my right arm
I can’t describe my feelings when I see you truly smile
It brightens my world and makes my day worth while

Through the years, we’ve been through a lot
We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve screamed and fought
But you never once gave up on me
And for that I love you… more than you can see

You’ve proved yourself to me, over and over again
You’re not just a lover, you’re my best friend

This is dedicated to my first, and only, love. Today is the three year anniversary of our first kiss, and the day that I started falling for him. This poem isn’t as good as I would like it to be, but I’ll edit it as lines come to me. I would really appreciate comments. Thanx.
