The Shadow Of Fear

I know you are there
and I can sense you.
You lurk in the darkness
but I can feel you.

You try to touch me
but I am hidden
yet I know you know
that I am here.

We're here just not touching
but we feel each other's presence.
I am guarded by being hidden
like you hide from me.

I know if I move
that you find me
so here is where I stay
uncomfortable but safe.

You are so close
and that scares me
but I wonder if you
are scared of me too.
