You try to tell me things I don't wanna hear,
But I won't listen,
Because I refuse to live by your words.

You try to make me do things I don't wanna do,
But it won't get done,
Because I refuse to cause myself anymore pain.

You try to bring up things I don't wanna remember,
But I'll forget it all,
Because I refuse to relive the past.

You try to make me feel bad when I shouldn't,
But I'll just smile instead,
Because I refuse to be unhappy.

You try to trick me with temptations,
But I will resist them,
Because I refuse to lose control.

You try to take away my sanity,
But I will remain sane,
Because I refuse to let you get the best of me.
