Long drive home

by Claire   Dec 26, 2005

Jeff was driving home from work,
All of a sudden his cell phone started to go berserk,
He turned down his stereo and picked up the phone
he read "Tina calling" and started to groan.
"Hello" Jeff says slightly upbeat
But Tina is not at all being discreet.

"How dare you think you can hide this from me?
253 627 9802..anytime you like, love Marie
She stopped by the house to see you today
I don't need excuses there's nothing to say.
You have broken my heart and betrayed my trust,
Forget you and leave i must,"

Jeff's eyes became teary and he began to weep
"listen to me Tina I'm not a creep,
I've stayed true to you
the whole way through
i love you more then my mind will allow,
I sware I'm not lying,
I'm not afraid to vow
so believe me when i say
that without you i couldn't live another day."

Tina starts in "stop talking whatever you say is a lie"
Your infidelity you can't deny
just admit what you've done and move on with your life
I'm getting rid of you, along with my strife.
I'm leaving I and have a new life to pursue
so don't call me ever, i really do hate you.

Tina hung up the phone and Jeff started to cry.
He called and called but no reply,
It'd be fine once she knew who Marie was,
He got her phone number simply because
he had needed help finding a ring.
his second cousin knew the whole thing,
she was the best jeweler from his home town
The finest he could find and widely renown.

he kept calling and calling but no one was there
she didn't have enough evidence to name it an affair.

Jeff was so caught up in all the commotion
trying to understand his so-called lack of devotion,
he didn't see the light turn red
I hate you were the last words that she ever said.
Those were the last words Jeff ever heard,
I'll love you forever, he would have preferred.
but whats done is done
when clouds clear up there's always sun
When you're down there's no way but up to go
you get what you give, you reap what you sow.
