My heart fallen
in disgrace
shame and pain radiate
from eyes of darkest light
trying to forget
trying to ignore
but the pain continues to soar
will it ever end
this cycle
this breaking of the heart
or will I live
in shattered pieces
of heart and love forever
let it go i must
but then i think
of all the times
my smile never ceased
and my heart is full
once again with endless joy
then reality comes
and my tears
fall from eyes still
darkly lit
with my heart
lying broken on the floor
can't this grief ever
stay buried beneath the sand.
