Let me grow

Why are people forcing me,
to grow up so fast,
For I am just a little girl,
facing a nasty past,

I just want to do all this,
in my own time please?
It's not like i am hurting you,
just think about my needs,

I need to find out who i am,
before i can move on,
Maybe then i will be mature,
and show you that i am strong,

I love you more than anyone,
but you expect too much,
All i want is you to help me,
but we are losing touch,

One day i will change,
and you will have your way,
But please just let me grow,
because that day is not today.

    Hum, yes, I relate a bit.
    It's that point where people either say that you are too young to do anything at all, and at the same time say that you are too old to be as iresponsible as you are..
    It drives me crazy when they say that!

    I don't know, I understand the poem, I can't really relate to it though but still it touched me in a strange way! I guess that makes your work exellent doesn't it?!! :)
