Let's heaven here

by Idiosyncratic   Dec 28, 2005

A brief explanation of this poem, since no one seems to understand it. I wrote this in the hope to cast some light onto what people really do. They come into new places, expecting the best for themselves, without thinking about the others who they'll hurt. It also touches on the point that people will adjust to 'betterment' until they believe their 'heaven' isn't good enough for them anymore.

"Let's heaven here"
our ghastly pleas
"Let's love and leave"
the tranquil seas

"Let's rest and grow"
angelic wings
"Let's quietly hope"
and loudly sing

"Let's gather up"
this perfect gold
"Let's take it all!"
and let it mold
"Let's feast upon"
the emerald fields
"Let's chop and cut"
all it can yield

"Let's massacre"
it's citizens
"Let's grab and keep"
everything within

"Let's take our ships"
and return home
"Let's shout it out!"
and bring back some

"LET'S LEAVE THIS HELL!!"
and bring our wings

The word choice was strong, and the emtion was deep and clear. You did an excellent job. I wouldn't have understood it either if you hadn't written the meaning at the top, but excellent write 5/5

Everyone puts words from songs on this site. I just liked the way the lyrics sounded so I put it on here. If you check anyone's quotes on here, you will see lyrics from songs..I will put (Taking Back Sunday) in parenthesis after the quote but that's all you're getting out of me.

I really like this poem and I think that the concept within the poem is very sad, yet true. I think that you ended it very nicely... It really got your point across. The flow and rhythm of this was very good and I just absolutely loved this poem! Great job! 5/5
