One Million Thoughts

by Leah   Dec 29, 2005

A tear slips out of her eye
and she lays down on her bed
one million thoughts
race through her mind
about how she wants to be dead.

A tear slips from the other eye
and she holds her pillow close
with this she breaks out in a cry
shes a broken withered rose.

She falls into a
dangerous slumber
where her thoughts are
only seen by her
she forgets how she is crying
but her tears make
her eyes a blur

The final tear falls at her feet
and she looks down
to the ground
no one will hear
her lasting screams
for no one is around.

Unicorns dance through
her mind and tell her to be free
they see a perfect happy face
her pain they cannot see.

She finds a rope
in her backyard
the rop daddy
used for the tire swing
she takes it back into the house
to mend her heart,
her broken wing

She ties the rope up
nice and tight
but she does not notice
that its weak
her mind is left
with hopeless thoughts
and words she fears to speak.

The other end
she holds in her palm
and ties it securely
around her neck
she cannot live her life
like this
a fragile unhappy wreck.

and then she jumps
from a stool
and waits for death to find her
thinkings of daddy
of the memories
all the things that were.

Alas, she does not die
the rope breaks
and she falls to the floor
her tear stained eyes look up
and see her parents standing
at the door.

They want her to get better
so they take her to a shrink
they tell her that they love her
and shes gone in a single blink.

She walks around the hospital
like she doesn't understand
whats going on, shes hopes that she'll get better dreams of a sunset or a swan.

She cuts herself so many times
and bleeds so many tears
her cuts are lovely symbols
proof, that nothing is as it appears.

And finally she is released
able to get away
but the scars that last forever
remind her of that day.

she walks down a lonely path
and everyone stares at her scars
a tear slips from her eye
as she looks to the stars.

She picks up a sacred knife instead

The scars that show
one million thoughts
of how she wanted to be dead
