Regrets?

The moments, wonderful moments,
and times we've shared,
my foolish heart,
was entirely unaware;

That you'd hurt me like this,
that I'd be so used,
I should've seen it coming,
but it was an offer I couldn't refuse;

It was inevitable,
but I thought it'd be different,
you promised me it's changed,
but to you a promise isn't real, is it?

Reverting back,
to this disdaining feeling,
breaks my heart more and more,
and not allowing for healing;

You took me away,
completely changed me,
and everything I once knew,
has once again escaped me;

Promises,
are meant to be broken,
my heart for you,
was merely a simple token;

You lifted me higher,
I needed you around,
it's the truth,
no matter how corny it sounds;

You were everything,
but I never even had you,
you used me so badly,
I never had a chance to stay mad at you;
