Make Believe

by Kenzie   Dec 29, 2005

You feel bad for everything you've done
You're the one who feels alone,
The one who's stuck not knowing what to feel

I am fine, I am free
Safe from harm, safe from pain
Full of life, with a heart that's full

Of coarse it's all jut Make Believe
A game I've learned to play
Something to help see me through the pain.

Just pretending,
Drifting in and out of day dreams
This is how I spend most of my time, now that you're gone

So let's play a game of Make Believe
And we'll pretend that everything is different,
Pretend that you hadn't lied

Pretend you never said the things you did,
That you didn't care what your friends thought,
That you'd never tried messing around with my emotions

Pretend you'd acted on your feelings,
Never talking yourself out of what you knew was true,
Never hiding what you felt

Pretend that we are happy
Pretend that nothing's wrong
Pretend that nothing had happened
Pretend the pain away

And now we end this game of Make Believe,
Stop imagining how much better both our lives could have been
Stop pretending nothing happened
Because it's too late to stop what's already been done.
