I apologize for those who came before me.
Those who judged and condemned with no reason,
Those who started the race, but did not have the strength or courage to finish it.
I apologize for those who said and acted like they were something they really were not,
For those who said they were on your side but, when faced with struggle, denied knowing you.
I apologize for those who wanted to help you for their glory instead of Gods.
For those who prayed emptiness instead of forgiveness, healing, and love.
I apologize for those who claimed faith,
Yet tried to control the outcome of every for-instance.
For those who cried for the homeless, helpless, and weak, but did not help them.
I apologize for those who cried out,
--I will follow! I will serve!
But not you
I will follow, I will serve myself.
For all these people, and myself
