It was me

As I was boarding the plane,
and a family trip this is,
I couldn't find my ticket,
so the plane I had to miss.

As we were looking for the ticket,
in a trash can it was to be,
they announced the plane had just crashed,
and on a magazine nearby, I read the words "It was me"

Days later, as I got ready for school,
My shoes were nowhere to be found.
"I'm late", I said,
But dad said, "We'll find them, calm down."

After finding them and almost reaching school,
there was a car crash in front of us.
"It was me", said the sign on the left.
The crash contained two cars and a bus.

As I layed in bed at night,
after another stressful day,
I thought of my uncle, who was gone,
and turned off the lights after I prayed.

Then as sleep took over,
I heard my uncle's voice, I know it was he.
And as the covers were raised to my neck,
he whispered in my ear, "It was me".
