The Power of a Prayer

This story is a true one
As honest as one can be
If only you could have seen
The thing that I have seen

Liz like this guy for years
But then he liked her friend
The friend then went out with him
Her heart could never mend

She is a strong Christian
But was so hurt by this
She prayed to god eventually
And simply asked him this:

"I'm sick of the everything and love
I don't want to feel this way
I trust in you and love you so
That things will be ok.

"I don't want more heartbreak
I don't want any more pain
All I want is my other half
And forever we shall remain"

She looked around the church that day
The day she felt the worst
She wanted just to disappear
She felt she was to burst

She then looked down the long pew
And there she caught his eye
She thought "wow! New boy right here
Jeez! He's a cute guy!"

Through the weeks they came closer
And she was so confused
She didn't know if he liked her
And didn't want her heart to lose

But all her friends told her so
That he was so into her
And if she didn't realise this
Her vision must be blurred

Very soon they were so close
And they decided to become more than friends
They love each other very much
But this is not where it ends

She found out that he himself
Was also heartbroken to
He has asked god for the same thing
And he knew what to do

She has inspired me greatly
After her heart was teared
She showed what god can do
And the power of a prayer
