Soldier

I'm a soldier,
wounded,
so I must give up the fight.

theres nothing,
left for me,
so I stumble from the light.

Now friends,
I can't go on,
I cant even start.

Theres nothing,
here for me,
except an empty heart.

As the weeks,
go on,
remember who I used to be.

Tell them,
I love them,
tell them just for me.

Tell all,
those haters,
that I don't really care.

Theres not a road,
I know,
that leads to anywhere.

Then you call,
I hear you,
"remember who you are"

I listen,
with my heart,
I hear you from afar.

Be strong,
your a,
soldier still.

fight my battle,
to be free,
they cant take away freewill.

    Hmm.. just the last part make me turn my head... the beginning on through was amazing until i saw the last stanza but, still it was great

    Wow.. what an inspiring poem =) i am very impressed... this poem had so much truth in it becuz everyday ppl are giving up there lives for us.. i think this is a great tribute to them... keep up the great work =) once again amzing poem lots of strong words and emotion and intensity to it!

    Amazing job. I really liked this one alot. It gives a piece of how soldiers would be. That no matter what you do fight or win you will always have that one thing to fall back on which is your heart telling you what to do. You hit the spot on that. keep it up. keep on writing. your very talented. love always and forever.
