On The Outside

by Samantha   Dec 31, 2005

There she sits looking into the mirror putting on her eyeliner and fixing her hair,
She looks perfect on the outside, but on the inside she just wants somebody to care.
Somebody to care about her sadness and all the problems she has left untouched.
Her parents don't know what's going through her mind, which they don't care much.

She is trying to find her identity underneath the scars she has to wear,
Beneath her dying heart is a soul she wants to share.
All the preps think she is just insane and crazy,
And the rest think she's dumb and lazy.

But if you only knew that this girl cries herself to sleep almost every night,
And it really makes it worse when she sees her parents fight.
She just wants to run away as fast as she can,
Into her own little land.
