Remember when we used to run around the playground
We used to laugh together I thought you’d always be around
But it seems you don’t need me although its hard to believe
You said I was your best friend, but now all I can do is grieve

I met you first when I was four, that’s when this began
We used to laugh and play, when we got scared we ran
Then it came to middle school and we were together always
Can u remember the boards we painted in the hallways??

We stuck with each other through and through
I never really wanted to move but I had too
High school came, it seemed really fast
Do you remember asking to be in the same class??

The only reason you went to that high school was because of me
Then I left and you seemed to forget, well I think its time we let it be
I’ll say good bye to you, and you can do the same
We can’t be friends anymore, and I’m the one to blame

I shouldn’t have moved away and left you all alone
I thought our friendship could last, your love you’d always shown
This friendship was a journey, like all the songs we’ve sung
I just ask you to remember…when we were young!
