DADDY

by brittany   Dec 31, 2005

Daddy remember when I was little
And you taught me how to ride a bike
And I took me what seemed like forever
To get it down.

Daddy remember how you
Used to take me to all
Those baseball, basketball, and football
Games?
Even though I never really liked sports
I still when with you
Because I loved spending time with you.

Daddy remember teaching
Me how to drive?
I was always so nerves
And it took a while.
Remember when I crashed the car?
I know you were mad, but
You still held me and said it was ok.
But after a few tries I finally got my
License.

Daddy I may be getting older
And doing more things with my life
Like working and school
And being with my boyfriend
And my friends as well
And I know to you im
Still that little girl,
And ill always be your little
Girl but daddy im not so little
Any more.
Ill always love you be your little girl
And I know you love me. But daddy
You have to let your little girl grow up
Sometime.

Great poem Brittany. Always remember it's so hard to really let our children go...but in order for them to grow and become responsible adults we have to turn loose. Beautifully written.....
    love ya, Ann

Wonderful poem! I can understand what Bill is saying, I look forward to my little girl growing up, but I can just imagine the sad time it will be when she spreads her wings. Great writing :)

Beautiful poem. It is tough to let your kids go out on their own and make mistakes, living and learning along the way. As a parent it is a proud and sad moment.
