What It Means

by ThugPoet   Dec 31, 2005

My poetry is knowing me,
taking a glance at my soul hopelessly,
I bare witness to this openly,
that this is proof of my conscience and that I Love knowingly.

It is my stand against the norms,
my refusal to conform,
I bow my head before my Lord with my heart scarred and torn,
prostrated to Him to help weather the storm.

It means a voice for the oppressed,
a clinched fist for faith and happiness,
a metaphorical middle finger for those who judge us for the way that we dress,
or the color of our skin, this is a pictionary for a people who are poor and have nothing at best.

Its a means,
thats what it means,
to obliterate the obscene,
a push to look beyond the words on these lines you've seen,
and read in between.

Thank you.
