THE REMARKABLE BOY

by Lisa Reed   Dec 31, 2003

Mommy I can feel your hands,
They glide across my skin,
Just like that little snowman you described,
Skating on the ice so thin.

Mommy I can hear you singing,
Its music to my ears,
Im not afraid here anymore,
Your voice chases away my fears.

Mommy I can smell your cooking,
It wafts across the air,
It helps me across to the kitchen,
I know I always get there.

Mommy you say im special,
In what way can you describe,
Is it because im a good boy,
That I hold back my tears with pride.

Mommy I can smell your perfume,
I know your coming near,
You’ll gently lift me in your arms,
And you whisper softly in my ear.

You tell me that im special,
Because I cannot see,
But I have got these remarkable senses,
And they mean the world to me.

So don’t worry if I cant see you,
Or sometimes I find it hard,
Im such a brave little angel,
And it shows im definitely not a coward.

So even if I cry at night,
And my pillow drowns out the sound,
I’ll wake happy in the morning ,
With my feet touching the ground.

So yes I think im special,
No matter how sad I can be,
But you see I have these remarkable senses,
And my mommy says they mean the world to me.
