An actors poem

by Megann   Jan 2, 2006

The stage awaits
while the audience sedates
The actor breaths in
can you hear the drop of a pin?
Wait till theirs peace
Ready soon for release
As the curtain draws
And nerves come, actors flaw
Silence
Silence
The first line is said
the actor goes red
The audience gasp
Their hands clasp
Silence
Silence
Colour pours infront of the eyes
As the time speeds, flies
As the interval approaches
You can hear the hum of coaches
Women fiddle with their broaches
Deep breaths are exchanged
Sets and costumes rearranged
Silence
Silence
Second half starts with a bang
Who mobile phone was it that rang?
There\'s tension amongst all
As the story rises and falls
Scratching of heads
As the audience imagines beds
Then suddenly a dramatic pause
A huge round of a plause
The shows over
Go get the rover
Time to get out of this place
Get the make-up off your face
D\'ya think they enjoyed it?
