It was me part 1

In the car listening to music
then a boy runs across the road in to the thick.
You swerve and break quik and the car goes into the stream.
Then the boy turns around as it hears the scream.

The boy was on his way to say sorry to his girlfriend.
He wanted to say sorry for argueing and make amends.
the boy dives into the water and pulls up the mangled girl.
He sees the bones in her legs and the cuts on her back and the dark curls.

The boy turns the girl over and for the first time cries.
the girl he turns over is his girlfriend and he sees the terror in her eyes.
He sits there looking at her face knowing that her death was his doing.
