A Penny's Worth

by Jacklyn   Jan 2, 2006

A man of not even thirty
inheriting the family company
including every single penny
enough to retire, settle early

He buys the cars and houses
expensive watches and TV's
even a ladies entertainment
though he's married with two kids

The richest man within the city
going to work, passing through streets
ignoring the homeless and poor
refusing to give a single nickel

Where another man begs to eat
to feed his family for the week
who's always been a loyal man
now stuck with nothing in his hand

One who can buy the world
Another with zero to his name
within one city it can exist
yet the problem goes ignored

So true and truly a sad fact. I really admire the honesty in this, no sense in sugar coating reality. If only people would open their hearts even a little it would make a world of difference.
    Thanks for sharing this~Holly

I promise you the ones that have less have the better hearts.....Great job Jacklyn.....It's the little things that means the most, not the money that some have.....being wealthy doesn't buy us happiness or love....

You prove everytime that you can take on any challenge thrown at you...I admire that. :)

there's a lot of selfish people in this world but I'd like to think that there are many more that care...you did an awesome job as always.
