Bloody Darkness

by RainbowSlider   Jan 3, 2006

So many days without ending
with nights that keep beginning
and yet I keep defending
a life that I was pretending.

Has it really been that long ago
that your love did show
and the light would know
how to help me go.

In my mind I see you again
as the woman who was my friend
who helped me then
but that was before the end.

As the darkness shines on me
I still feel free
with the friendly company
of the many I see.

Bloody darkness in the day
and bloody darkness to stay
with the bleeding decay
of an almost forgotten yesterday.

The dark blood of night
and the shadow of light
is like a crop with blight
and darkness shines bright.
