For Seth

This is a poem i wrote for my boyfriend to explain my feelings for him as i have a tendency to put up a shield in front of him, as well as other people, but shutting him out and giving him the cold shoulder. It helped our relationship immensely.

When your beauty astounds me
And my softened thoughts receive no voice
I hope in each heavy breath we share
Reveals that you were my number one choice

When your eyes look deep into me
Searching desperately to know what i think
I hope my love for you is carried
With each misty-eyed blink

And as much as i want to tell you
Everything you mean to me
My heavy heart cracks through my ribs
Ensuring my mind remembers a part you cant see

I see the pain i cause you
Yet I'm paralyzed by my mind
And as my heart reaches out to you
My mouth rests mute and unkind

So please don't tell me you love me
Don't make any promise that you cant keep
Just hold me close to feel my heart
And lie next to me as i drift to sleep

For as much as i know you love me
The words would pierce this broken soul
Just keep in mind that i love you dearly
Because you're the man that makes me whole
